Stuck on Startup Repair Screen. Keeps looping.

So it can't boot from ext hd? Hey I run xp on this slower machine with limited space and slower internet connection. Is there any technique to counter my issues other then given before? What can I do with my 500gb external hard disk + win xp to save my files on the problem windows 7 machine?

I'm wasting my time download a waik(1.3 GB) for vlite yesterday. I thought it can create an iso file that I can use with the "Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool".

I know I did something wrong but I don't know which part. I upload the paragon file on ext hd and then I boot it on the problem machine. Is that the right steps?

OK should I install imgburn on the same ext hd which have the paragon rescue disk so that it can boot the problem machine and recover the important file on that machine? Please help. When you are lost you can even read something correctly.

I believe the Paragon app will burn CD for you. If not rightclick on the ISO file to burn with Windows Image Burner. Then boot and follow the steps to copy your files via explorer to External.

May I know, since I already have the Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool install on my xp machine, should I download the iso file(huge files) to use with this tool?

Which ISO file? Are you planning to use the Paragon Rescue CD or the Win7 installation DVD to do the file rescue? You need one or the other but not both.

I really don't know which one is the iso file that come with paragon package and I really don't know how on earth to burn the cd if I have no cd drive? SHould I download the iso files so that I can use it with this tool http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/31541-windows-7-usb-dvd-download-tool.html ? I'm currently stuck to locate my iso file for this tool. Is it come with this tool or should I download it? It's quite a huge file to download 3.1GB and it take about 6 hour to complete downloading 1.3GB files from my internet connection.

In that case if all you want to do is rescue your files I would download the much smaller ISO for Hiren’s BootCD 15.1 and write it to flash stick using this tutorial: Hiren's BootCD From USB Flash Drive (Pen Drive) » www.hiren.info.

Then boot the stick, choose XP, Explore WIn7 to find your files and drag them to your external HD.

What is it exactly you're trying to do with Win7, repair it, run Recovery, or reinstall it? Are you following the steps in Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start? Hirens can be used for several of those steps but you'll need a Win7 DVD or Repair CD to fully repair it or reinstall.

I love you greg. I'm downloading Hirens BootCd at this moment. I want to save the file on the faulty machine to my ext hard disk. Then I will find another solution to fix to problem machine. The most important part right now is to save the important file from the faulty machine. Can HirensBootcd cover this greg?

Yes, use the XP browser. There are multiple other apps on Hirens as well to rescue files, test your HD, do the Partition Wizard, HD and memtest steps in troubleshooting tutorial.

I believe you got stuck on testing the HD. Find out the brand of HD and see if it has a HD diagnostics app on Hirens. If not use Seatools by Seagate which is on there to finally get a definite diagnosis on your HD.

I have try step 1 to 4 but not fix the issue. I have skip step5 to 7 since the iso file is quite huge to download. my internet connection are not that fast and sometimes it hang. So i try step 9 paragon, i download them and extract every file on ext hd. When I boot "ntrdl file is missing ctrl-atl-delete" error occured. Seriously I don;t know what I'm doing. So now I want to try the Hirens BootCD. I'm still curious can I use this tool without cd drive? As I said before I'm not a technical guy who know everything but I'm willing to learn slowly. When you're a bit lost you can't even read something simple properly. So please accept my apologies for the inconvenience caused.

Unless I am missing something your HD appears to be failing. Test it first using the HD Diagnostics on Hiren's boot disk (flash stick) for your HD make, or if you cannot determine the HD brand use Seatools.

I have repeated this nearly a dozen times in this thread. Why?

I admit that I'm quite slow. Sorry.
