Super virus has control of my computer

Last week I accidently downloaded a virus. I have had my computer guru over here and she can't figure out what it is or how to remove it.

It removed my restore points, won't let me download anything, and won;t let me play my games (including the Sims 3) I can still watch Netflix, but, it keeps bouncing me from full screen to downsized....very irritating. Any program we have found that may help, it won't let me download those either.

Anyone got any ideas....I just got this computer a couple months ago and I really don't want to buy another one.

I have Malwearbites and AVG....this virus has disabled my Malwearbites but, I think AVG is still working.

Thanks'
AuntB

First of all, I have been told many of times on here not to use AVG. The gurus on here told me to use Comodo or Panda. Also, I would run AdwCleaner and Ccleaner.

It can't hurt to try AVG. Meanwhile, did you make any Rescue Disks or Rescue USB sticks? If not, do you have Windows Install disk [which might be the last thing to try].

Did you change your user name? If you did, who was helping you and what was your "original" user name in this forum?

It's very hard to help you without knowing what happened before this new, first post ;)

I did change my user name because I couldn't get into the forum with my old one. I am not sure what that has to do with this as I stated everything that was going on. :(

Hi justauntb2

First download RKill and run it (this should stop the virus but not remove it) then download Malwarebytes and perform a new install then run full scan and remove any problems, also you could run your normal installed AV (you may need to perform a new install of this after using RKill and Malwarebytes). Also I would recommend download SAS (free) and run a full scan.

RKill Download

SUPERAntiSpyware | Remove Malware | Remove Spyware - AntiMalware, AntiSpyware, AntiAdware!
I said that this virus will not let me download ANYTHING ....I am really getting frustrated

I don't have any of that....I took my computer in and the guy rebuilt it.....he doesn't have a disk either. I guess I will have to buy a new one.

Thanks anyway,
