Previously I was on XP, I just installed Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit on an alternate internal drive. All the drivers installed themselves, including a graphics card that gave me issues and internet too. But there's no audio.

Troubleshooter says:
Problems found: Hardware changes might not have been detected, Detected (yellow exclamation mark appears beside that line of text)

Above that it says The troubleshooter made some changes to your system. Try attempting the task you were trying to do before.

I don't really know where to start, could someone tell me how to fix this?

Thank you.

edit:
Trying to place a mp3 into winamp results in a message:Bad DirectSound driver. Please install proper drivers or select another device config. Error 88780078

Thanks. It says no audio card detected, even though XP worked fine with sound and all. What's next?

Is it an onboard sound card and how old is it?
Go to the manufacturer's website and look for a windows 7 compatible driver and install it in safe mode

I had the same problem and my OS is windows7 home premium 64bit. What you have to do that ......
1) restart your computer
2) press f8 when it restart
3) select 'repair my computer', press enter
4) select 'restore my computer( i am not sure the exact word, but it is a restore option )
5)Follow the steps(i forgot the steps, but it is easy and it will restore your computer)
6)restart your computer, then check your playback devices :)

Please let me know if these steps resolved your problem :))
