Switching Audio Inputs To PC Simply ?

Hello,

What a great Forum.

Have recently purchased a scanner radio for monitoring vhf/uhf local frequencies.
Fine radio, but a very poor internal speaker.

Would like to run its Line-Out into my PC, and use the PC's external speakers that I have on my desk, and
also, possibly, some of the audio apps/programs on the PC for adjusting the sound "quality".

Running Windows 7, the 64 bit edition on a Desktop PC.

Here's my question:

My son uses the PC also, as a different "User".
Even if he didn't use, I really don't want to go into the Control Panel, Hardware and Sound, and....

to change it over every time between the scanner's audio Line-Output, and some program he (or me) might be using, or some music he might have on an external HD, that also has audio on it.

What I would like, if there is such a thing, is a very simple, method (or icon) on my desktop that I can use to very simply switch these inputs with just a click or so ?

Is there such a method ?

Suggestions would be most welcome.

Thanks,
Bob

There probably is a utility somewhere to do that. But, I don't know what they are. A google search is your best option.
