Hello,

I just switched to Windows 7 from Windows XP. I'm hating it for various silly reasons. So. I have two separate user accounts. On my old XP, to switch from user to user efficiently, I Windows Key + L. On Windows 7, it's the same keys, however, it brings you to an additional screen that asks you if you want to switch users and you have to select that option, before you get to the main screen where all the accounts are listed.

Since I feel like it's pretty self-evident that I want to switch users, I feel like that extra screen is unnecessary and irritating and it makes me want to break my laptop in half. Is there another shortcut key, or is there a way I can change my settings so that when I Windows Key + L it, I get to the user accounts directly, rather than yet another screen asking me if I'm sure?

Thanks!

Hi mlehcar and welcome to W7 Forums

That key combination takes you to the lock screen. It is possible to navigate from there and switch to other accounts, however you can always create a shortcut by following the instructions here: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/61307-switch-user-shortcut-create.html If you place this shortcut on the Public Desktop (which, as its name implies, is available for everyone), you should be able to switch accounts by simply clicking on the shortcut.

Thanks!

I tried it and it sort of worked!
I couldn't get the the "switch user" shortcut icon to merge with the tsdiscon.exe properly, but it's cool, it works anyway!

Thanks again for all your help!
