Syncing Iphone with outlook 2010?

I have Office Profession 2010 and the newest version of Iphone software.
In that case, plug in your phone, and once iTunes detects it, go through each data type and set them to what you want to do, and how you want it to sync. It's all spelled out in iTunes, and you don't really need any further documentation. The explanations are good enough.

Still don't see it!

Help. I'm a newbie iPhone 4 user, with Win7 x64 and Outlook 2010 on the laptop. I don't yet see the Info tab in iTunes on the laptop, nor in iTunes on the iPhone. (I do see an Info selection in Outlook under the File tab, but that does not address synchronization.) Please guide. Appreciate it!

When your iPhone is plugged into the computer, you should see an "Info" tab along with "Summary", "Music", and others in iTunes on the computer, on the iPhone page.

More clues. . .

Thanks for your quick help. I am still stuck. Here is a walkthrough of what occurs:

(0) With the iTunes application open on the laptop, when I click its File drop-down menu, I see a Get Info (Ctrl-I) line, but it is grayed out.

(1) With the iPhone turned on, I connect it to the laptop. In the laptop-resident iTunes application I see the iPhone's entry appear under DEVICES. The entry shows a battery image and an Eject gadget.

(2) I select the entry. Now I see a tempting ad for MobileMe appear in the main frame. I do not see an Info tab. When I again click the File drop-down menu, I again see the grayed-out Get Info line.

From what you say, it sounds as if I should be seeing an iPhone page appear in iTunes on the laptop. Let me describe in more detail what happens in step (2) above. When the iPhone entry under DEVICES appears, the main frame goes empty except for the word iPhone in its center. The white bar at the top of the window with the apple logo goes to a message "verifying iPhone" with a barber pole progress bar for a second. When it goes back to the white bar with logo, the MobileMe ad appears in the main frame below. At no time do I see tabs for "Info", "Summary", "Music", etc.

Firstly, you are not looking in the right place. The tab will be in the main frame. You probably need to accept/reject the MobileMe offer before you can see it. You want a screen that shows a picture of the iPhone with details such as capacity, firmware version, etc. You should get that after you clear through the MobileMe offer and anything else like that it shows you.

'Doh. Quite right! If I simply click the No Thanks button on the ad, I am presented with the Getting Started content for the iPhone, and can select which kinds of information to sync. Then when I click Done, the tabful frame appears, the synchronization begins, and I open a beer. Sorry I can't send you one. Many REPs for your patience.

Mithc:

Those instructions are for Outlook 2003 and 2007. Nothing is stated for Outlook 2010.

I wrote to the apple peeps. Itunes support says they don't know of outlook is supported. I still can't figure out what to do.

I too WAS having this problem for several days but I have resolved it. Here is what I did, after several attempts of installing and uninstalling Office 2010 via the Microsoft Office download page without success of getting my iPhone to sync with Outlook contacts. (I did not even have the option under the info tab to select Outlook for my contacts). I wnet ahead and purchased from MIcrosft the backup disc for $14.00. Once purchased it provided me with a link to download a 586mb file (Office 2010 Home and Business). Once downloaded I ran the file and installed Office 2010 (it did ask me again for my produict key) over the version I had downloaded via the trial page. Low and behold as soon as i plugged in my iphone everything worked like a charm. I guess there is a corrupt file on the free download page or additional files on the page that allows you to download the file to your computer if you pay for the disk. I did this yesterday, and today i got the tracking number for my hard copy disk that is being mailed to me. Try this out, the worst think that can happen is you blow $14.00 bucks

Problems Syncing Iphone Contacts with Outlook 2010 Professional

I just got a new computer and am trying to get everything setup. It has Windows 7 and Office 2010 Professional. I installed itunes 10.x and am trying to sync the information from my phone to my computer. The contacts sync with Outlook, however, it wipes out all of the phone numbers and other data in the contact record. The contact name is still there but all numbers are gone. Is there an update/fix/workaround for this?

I appreciate any assistance.

Well a miracle occured. I synced today and went to the detail page and low and behold, Outlook shows up as a possibility. I checked the boxes for calendar and email and the options lit up. It now syncs. I now have my Google calendar, my Outlook 2010 calendar and my Iphone G3 Calendar in sync.

Hi, MrPat, welcome to the Seven Forums! :)

I'm glad you got your iPhone to sync the Calendars. You can also sync the contacts, however, contacts you add to your iPhone will sync to your Google Contacts but not Outlook Contacts. To do so, I recommend Google Outlook sync also known as GO sync.
