I purchased and returned to Newegg the following: Thermaltake N0012US Aluminum & Plastic 3.5" Silver USB 2.0 & eSATA External Enclosure.

I unsuccessfully used a 1TB Seagate HDD in the enclosure. I note that the USB 2.0 worked without a problem (though slow compared to what eSATA should do.). None of my mobo's three eSATA ports recognized the drive / enclosure. Yes, I went through device manager (Device Manager - Scan for hardware changes)
, tried three different eSATA cables, have ACHI enabled in the bios, etc, etc. [I note that my system's HD = RAID1+0, 4 WD Caviar 500MB 7200 16 MB cache drives = 1TB. That set up works just fine.]

I've checked with CyberPower who reported the bios was set properly. Can anyone give me some help - please? I'm about ready to throw in the towel In advance, thank you for your assistance. I love everything else about Win7 Pro and my computer, so if this stumbling block could be removed, that would be great!

do you use a JMicron controller? If so you need to install the raid drivers for it.
