Hello, I have an urgent request... (as probably most do in here, lol)
The thing is I have a friend in sweden with an almost new laptop,
he went to visit a friend with it, played some online games together,
came back and now its "broken". The only thing that was installed during that time
was steam.
The toshiba laptop had windows 7 preinstalled in swedish which is why I cant
help much there and he and his family are fire & water when it comes to them & any kind of technical stuff.
So we tried to fix it as much as possible but here is what happens...
He turns the laptop on, "Windows is reading files" then turns into the "Self-Repair" mode and after a few seconds it says "can not self-repair, if you added some devices since the last good loading point please remove those and start again" u can then either choose "restart" or "cancel". There are however 2 more options in that screen, 1 is to show a logfile of why its not working, which didnt show anything suspicious and 2 is to go into advanced options, if he clicks the advanced option it says "to perform this action u need to be logged in" which is kinda where we are stuck, since there is no way to log in.
We then tried the F2 + restart to see if something in the BIOs is screwd up
but everything was fine, just to be sure we returned it to default (which didnt change anything anyway).
Then we tried the F8 + restart and tried almost every method that screen provides, aka "safe mode", "disable windows restart after crash", "try last working setup point and reboot" and blabla... it always ends up at the same screen stated above.
After that we tried the toshiba way, holding power untill the laptop closes, then hold 0 (zero) and turn it on... well lets just say that didnt work at all. He didnt got any dvds with the laptop and looks like the hidden "recovery" partition isnt in it aswell.
We then took a windows 7 install DVD from the familys PC, changed the boot priority in BIOs to make it boot from disk and tried to do it this way....
didnt work... same screen as above.
Then we started the PC to make a backup-security disk and tried it with that(on the laptop).

We came to the 1st picture, all worked fine.
We came to the 2nd picture, all worked fine.
We didnt come to the 3rd picture, cause it was saying the same as before...
"the chosen option requires u to be logged in" (free translation since it was swedish)
What can we do now to actually get this baby back to factory status or to get passed that "login" thing ?
Help is greatly appreciated since we are having an online tournament next week which is pretty big and we actually travel there by plane and the prize is huge aswell... so we need him and his laptop in the team.
