Hello.

I am not sure if I am in the correct section, but I am trying my luck anyway.

Let me try to recap :

I was playing WoW on my lovely computer.

Then it crashed horribly. Freeze with stuttering sound loop. Then black screen, then "No signal". Computer still running, so I reboot manually.

Windows 7 failed to launch properly. I try to repair. Failed.

I try to make sure that the correct partition is active through command line, because the partition that seems to be used is not the usual C:, it still fail to miserably. ( I may have ****ed something up doing this ).

Then after hours, I manage to create a bootable USB, and I try to repair from it, still failed, but with some added text :

Repair details :
The following startup option will be repaired:
Name: {bootmgr}
Identifier : {9DEA862C-5CDD-4E70-ACC1-F32B344D4795}

The following startup options will be added:
Name: Windows 7 Home Premium (recovered)
Path : Windows
Windows Device: Partition=E: (114371 MB)

Name: Windows Recovery Environment (recovered)
Path: Recovery\620a18e0-28f7-11e2-957d-90c77b59ad8b\Winre.wim
Windows Device: Partition =E (114371 MB)

A copy of the current boot configuration data will be saved as: C:\Boot\BCD.Backup.0002

Which made me all happy and hopeful before it popped an error window with this :

System Recovery Options
Failed to save startup options.

Then this :

Re-image your computer
An internal error occurred. The following information might. The following information might help you resolve the error:

The system cannot find the file specified. (0x80070002)

Now, I am sitting reading this : http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/68942-sata-drivers-load-windows-recovery-options.html

Which is exactly what is now displayed in front of my main computer, because, of course he didn't find my OS, despite knowing where and what it is.

One question remains though : what drivers am I supposed to put in there ?!

Of course here is hoping that's just the last step before getting my windows back, but I ain't exactly optimistic.

My spec :
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bits SP1 (oem)
Motherboard Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H
Processor Intel Core i5 3570K
SSD Intel 330 "Maple Crest" - 180 Go
HDD Seagate Barracuda SATA III - 2000 Go

Thanks in advance for your help.

Here is a princess Leia cat for your trouble, because you are my only hope :

I'm wondering if System Reserved partition was assigned a drive letter. If exists, it should be marked Active, and not have a drive letter.

Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
Nice image :)
Bad situation though work your way through this,
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/219533-troubleshooting-windows-7-failure-boot.html

So now Windows 7 is displayed in the table, on E: disk, which is a bit weird.

And the message now read just :

Name: Windows Recovery Environment (recovered)
Path: Recovery\620a18e0-28f7-11e2-957d-90c77b59ad8b\Winre.wim
Windows Device: Partition =E (114371 MB)

A copy of the current boot configuration data will be saved as: C:\Boot\BCD.Backup.0002

I am following the tutorial, but some of the step I had already done.

chkdsk /f didn't find anything wrong.
Running start up repair 3 times didn't change a thing.
I had already marked the 100 MB reserved partition as active, but I redid it anyway, still nothing.
System restore doesn't fix this either.
SFC /scannow didn't find any problem
Idem for bootrec and bootrec.exe .
I can't run safe mode because it immediately BSOD and restart.

I am now downloading one of those bootable anti virus and partition wizard .

I'm wondering if System Reserved partition was assigned a drive letter. If exists, it should be marked Active, and not have a drive letter.
System Reserved partition seems to have been assigned the letter E from what I can tell. It has also been marked as active multiple time.

When I marked the Windows 7 partition as active ( as mentionned in the tutorial ) , it reads : BOOTMGR is missing.

Thank you so much for helping me.

I'm wondering if its because your trying to do the repairs with BOTH, your drives "working".
Not sure if the tutorial works because of Dual booting.
Just try it with the internal drive only.

Without the bootable usb you mean ? I don't have access to the "repair your computer" in my Advanced boot manager, so I can't do the tutorial without it.
