System Reserved MBR partition designation question

Is it possible to have the System Reserved MBR partition installed on to a flash drive? My goal is to have a system that is not bootable without this flash drive. I assume this may have to be done through command prompt. I have heard of this being done before but I cannot find any tutorials.

Also I am comfortable on linux distro's so if it can be done via linux command line it's not an issue.

Not quite what you're looking for, but this utility will let you password protect the computer using a flash drive. If the flash drive is removed, the computer is locked down. Insert the flash drive and computer will unlock.
