I have a Dell Inspiron 5520 laptop running windows 7 with 4 MB RAM. First off I cannot connect to the internet because I get the error message- :Windows did not detect any networking hardware. I tried uninstalling and re-installing the Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless-N2230 which is acknowledged in the device manager but did not help. Ran Diagnostics and everything passed. Decided to just do a restore and when I try that an error message appears with the following message: "System restore does not appear to be functioning correctly on this system. A Volume Shadow Copy Service component encountered an unexpected error. Check the application event log for more information. (0x800423020 Tried doing the restore from a clean boot and got same message. On a side note, when trying to boot to safe mode via the f8 key......it never starts up, just goes to a dark screen with a prompt, beeping continuously........any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hello and welcome dynaclean mate have a loo to see if the fan is spinning. In a desktop this constant beeping is caused by non functioning fans. See if it is full of crud or something that is stopping it turn.

If it is that then it is probably over heating preventing the CPU from starting.

Post back what you find and just how old is this machine??
