System Restore not saving automatic points

Can't believe that a program that was released over 4 years ago has still got so many things wrong with it. If I can make a manual restore point and windows updates create a restore point then why oh why is it so hard for an automatic restore point to be created. Never had this problem with XP but then again XP worked. If I have a restore point scheduled and the history says the task was started and completed then why is it not being saved? And yes, I have tried all the fixes (been working on this for two weeks) Don't want to hear that windows 7 only creates a point after 7 days if no other points have been created. If that's true then the idiot that came up with that one should be standing in the unemployment line.

I can't believe that after 206 views no one has an answer for this. What's a matter Microsoft is this one of those little glitches that you hope people will overlook and will fix itself over time or is it you just don't care you have a faulty program?

Windows 7 Forums is an independent web site and has not been authorized, sponsored, or otherwise approved by Microsoft Corporation.

I saw your post soon after you made it. I spent some time looking into it, but I don't have a solution for you.

I'm just another W7 user attempting to help those that I can.

Maybe other forum members (other Windows 7 users) can help you.

I too was having trouble with windows saying a restore point was created... then after a reboot of my PC they would not be there.
I figured out a fix. put in your installation disk and do an UPGRADE install of the OS over the existing OS. this fixed the problem for me. windows found a problem with my .net framework files also and fixed it. (i don't know if this was part of the reason restore points would not save-but my problem was fixed)!
