System Restore Points Question

Hey guys, I'm just wondering,

If I set my System Restore points to be 12:00AM every week on Mondays, does my laptop have to be turned on for the System Restore to create that actual Restore?

If not, I should then change it to a time when I have my laptop turned on?

I think it will have to be turned on for the System Restore Point to work. The computer cannot do any functions if is turned off.
Try & pick a time that your computer is usually turned on & not being used.

I find that a restore point made daily is far better than relying on one that is a week old, especially if you have been installing-removing programmes, tweaking the pc etc, you are only going back to the time you turned on the computer and not a full 7 days. I do not 100% trust system restore so I always make a fresh system image daily when I turn on pc.

Also have a think about system imaging which in my opinion a far surperior way to have your pc back up and running real quick if things go arse up.
