Hello all,

I am having an issue with my computer(laptop) I bought a laptop and ended up having it continuously crash on me, I decided to try and restore the laptop to an earlier date but almost 20 hours later the computer is still running system restore. It wont do anything at all, it wont reboot, it wont restore the computer and everything i have tried to do isn't working.

Is there any possibility to force the restore to end or complete? I am so getting annoyed with this computer, the last one I had to take back and exchange due to the drivers not working, this one i'd love to keep since it's a nice one but unsure if there is a way I can get the restore to actually restore the computer or not.

The computer is supposed to be used for college course work and some online games, but as it is it is being an annoyance.

Yeah I'd pull the battery and unplug it. It's probably not doing anything.

Hello RyteroArrow,

Was the Laptop in this condition when purchased?

If no, what were you doing just before the issue started?

Did you download any software or add any new hardware?

When you say it keeps crashing, do you mean it keeps freezing, or restarting?

Do you get a blue screen?

John

No it was not in this condition, when this started it just kept crashing, it would restart and do a memory dump and that's all it would do. Somehow my mother was able to get it to work and still have no clue how she was able to do this since she claims she did nothing to it.

Beforehand when I was using it it kept crashing and doing a memory dump, it did this five times before she touched it, then it worked and I decided to do a system restore thinking it would fix the issue with it doing this, at the time I thought I had very little time to restore it before it crashed again.

I didn't download any software, before it started to crash I was trying to get it online so I could look up some school sites to get my homework done, as I was trying to connect it would start crashing, like I said it did this five times as soon as I tried to connect to the internet, then I did a restore and like 20 hours later the restore is still running.

The computer was not brand new when I bought it, so I have no clue what is going on exactly, and even though it has a warranty I am skeptical on bringing it back during the continuous restoration of the system due to fearing they'll try and renig the warranty and tell me I did something to it. Is there anything I can do to force it to respond and complete or cancel the restoration without it being messed up?
