System Restore won't work

I picked up some garbage online which has made Deshaker video software not work. I've failed in all my attempts to get it working again, so I want to use System Restore to reset my computer to when it was good. But even System Restore won't work. I get a message saying "System Restore could not access a file. This is probably because anti-virus is on (it wasn't). Error 0x80070005" What can I do?

This seems to be tied up with your previous post yesterday when you were having problems downloading that software. That thread is still open awaiting your further report. Let's hear what happened to the download before we go into this problem.
