Can't understand it. I have installed 7 again after I had a virus, and just thought "Hell, may as well put 7 on now"
So complete removal of Vista (may not have been a virus, may just be an irritant) and put 7 on.
Only, it takes an AGE to shut down. I kid you not. Ranging between 5 and 10 minutes. And the twice it went that long, it ended with a BSOD.
AND...this morning it wouldn't boot up, nor repair, and I had to go for a system restore losing most of the stuff I had put back on which was necessary.

One other thing - if I've been away from my comp for more than a couple of hours, it goes to a black screen, and WON'T come back with movement of mouse and has to be rebooted.

mine also does this. Its not on all builds but its doing ti on 7260 x86 at the moment.
Have you tried deleting the graphics driver and letting W7 re install it using the default one?
Im not 100% sure this cured it but when i did this in the past it seemed to work and the monitor would stay on. Ive not got around to doing it with the latest build yet.

Thanks.
It did the not booting up trick once too often, and I will not keep farting around going back via system restore and have to reinstall everything.
Back on my Vista again
At least that worked properly, believe it or not !
