I have been using a program called imacro - simply its a add on for firefox , when you run it it works on web pages to auto click any tab you want and plays auto 24 hours a day ...
that being said -

Issue is firfox builds up and builds up intill in the task manager the memory gets full.
and then crashes firefox.

I then have to set up imacro again to run . (when it should be auto to run 24 hours a day)
if i wanted...

Is there any program or anything that can reduce the memory leak ??..
i have cleared cache i have no apps running no additional add-ons running in firefox.

No other programs running infact i even brought a vps to see if the issue would be resolved in here and , firefox does the same in there ....
i uploaded my brothers u tube click here to view imacro help - YouTube

how can this memory leak be resolved - i have tried so many way that you can think of on the internet nothing has worked...

Firefox stores all the tabs you've opened (and closed) in RAM, and when you exit FF it clears the cache. Chrome does this as well, but the tabs are split in to individual processes. So if your script opens a lot of tabs, it's going to need a lot of memory. You can change the memory cap of firefox in browser.cache.disk.capacity in your FF install directory, set it to a lower number depending on how much RAM you have.

Have you tried using opera? If you're using a Javascript, opera is usually the best option.

creating such a system would involve quite a significant amount of relatively complex coding I'd say, so thats not a option sorry already looked,

anyone no how you can drop firefox memory leak ?.

That doesn't involve any coding at all. Opera is a program that's installed like anything else.

It sounds like you have a buggy release of Firefox. I used to be a Firefox user, but I got tired of the quirkiness and the issues, so I switched to Chrome. No memory leaks, no issues, and it's faster.

Vbs scripts are coding for imacro - and they do involve understanding of coding,
and you can not use imacro - on chrome (well you can but has a replay of 99 times only - firefox using imacro runs 24/7.....
anyway i got a friend to code a small exe program that reduces memory leak ...
Thanks for responses

Try firemin, set at "max ram usage" (a relative term) still keeps the memory leaks in check. You'll see firefox run in a few mb of space, which is pretty amazing.

he wants to use a firefox plugin that automates actions. Since it does not exist for Opera, having somthing like that work on opera does require a bit of coding.

I hadn't come across firemin before. Trying it now. Huge difference - no bad side effects so far.

Thanks.

yeah, at "max cpu usage" some addons start stuttering noticeably (like say downthemall, especially if you have a lot of heavy addons), but really I don't need firefox to run in a few kb, the "max ram" setting is more than enough to keep it in check without hurting addons.

But maybe it's just my oldish rig.

ohsocute69, have you find a solution? Been hunting but the solution is to exit imacros using iim1.exit as prescribed by iopus. The memory leaks cannot be recovered.. using imacros 8.0, memory usage start at around 30mb then slowly building up to 600mb or more..have to write a vba using WMI to query the process memory if imacros.. once it reach the critical point.. issue a iim1.exit and restart imacros

Have just upgraded the ram from 1GB to 2GB. Now find that the memory leak is much lower and steady at less than 300 MB and imacros did not hang up as it used to be. May be the additional ram allowed smooth running of the webpages and caused less errors in imacros downloading them and therefore, less memory leaks..

Are you sure it was a memory leak and that it wasn't that you just didn't have enough RAM? (Because you have been and are still using an exceptionally low amount of RAM for running Windows 7 and your programs.)

Anyway yeah, +1 for Firefox. (Because apparently meaningless browser preference shout-outs are relevant to this thread.)

Mod computer running on superlite Window7 that is only about 2 gb fully installed.. specially built for data acquisition with imacros 8.0. Programs use only about 200 mb max physical memory without imacros..imacros took up about 500 MB.. now running flawlessly for 7x24 running after adding 1 more Gig with imacros running below 400 MB..imacros and other programs are refreshed daily..downloading data much faster than similar xp machine running in parallel with imacros 6.9..
