Solved Task Manager missing close, min/max buttons

I'm studying for my A+ certs and opening various utilities so I can learn more about them.

I noticed that my Task Manager window no longer shows the close button. I have to right click the icon on the taskbar and close it like that.

It's the same if I choose ctrl-shift-esc or ctrl-alt-delete.

Hi HAVOC,

In Task Manager, have you tried right clicking taskmgr.exe and selecting End process?
Then click File > New Task (Run...) > type taskmgr.exe > OK.

Just tried it. With task manager open, it doesn't list taskmgr as running (the task manager window is empty).

Have you tried a system restore to a point in time before this started happening?

Fixed it after a search on google. The fix was on Sevenforums, post #3 in this link:
