Task Scheduler...

As I mentioned elsewhere, I've never used Vista, so I don't know if task Scheduler under Win 7 and Vista share things in common.

Frankly, I was amazed at the number of events that appear to be scheduled! I have never had a need to use this function under XP, do I really need all this stuff running now?

Could you snip a pic (or tell us) what the many things running in task manager are? Im not really a fan of task scheduler running in background using resources but hey its a small price to pay for having a backup run overnight, etc

Just open it for yourself zigzag and youl see the number of items scheduled. Most of those I would assume are necessary.

I've had a play around with the Vista task scheduler before and you can even set it to run movies & mp3s at certain times :p

Hey I would except Im working on a damaged box where scheduler is disabled and cant be re-enabled. Just too lazy to re-install 7201 right now.

Sorry but that makes perfect sense. Its the event that triggers the logon sound when you get to your desktop. I suspect there is a similar entry for logoff and other situations.
