Hi,

I need to help a relative who gets in a total freefall spin with basic operations on computer - simple things like opening files & using the mouse properly. They live 100 miles away from me so you can see the problem.

I know there used to be a a Windows facility for sharing pc's - I know tech's use it, but I don't know if home users can use it on Windows Basic operating systems?

If so, 'Team Player' looks like a useful download although I have no idea how it works at the moment.

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks,

KR

You need TeamViewer rather than TeamPlayer. TeamViewer is one of the best free solutions to assist remote users, so that would suit you quite well. TeamPlayer is as far as I know not for remote assistance, it's more like connecting multiple keyboards and mice to the same computer for instance for gaming.

Works without issues on Windows 7. If necessary, read our own Doc Brown's TeamViewer tutorial here: http://www.sevenforums.com/software/101318-teamviewer.html#post875248

You are welcome.

I'm regularly assisting some friends and relatives back in my native Finland from here in Germany where I live, using TeamViewer for that without issues.
