Solved Techrepublic figures don't show

Techrepublic figures don't show in Firefox but do in Chrome and IE. Other sites also.

What are possible explanations?

Figures A, B, C, and D show white space only.

There's something wrong with the CSS or scripts on the page. It's probably browser specific.

So if we inspect element for the image "Figure A" we see the following:

If we remove the text highlighted in yellow we end up with:

Viewing the page then results in images being shown where there were blank spaces previously:
