Temporarily disable recent documents

Is there a way to temporarily disable recent documents in Windows 7?

Ive been spoilt by the private browsing feature in firefox, I am surprised its been dificult to find a program to do this.....

Turning off and on Recent Documents doesnt work because then the list is cleared of all items.

A little more automatic than manually disabling and reenabling, but still not perfect. Hope it helps in the meantime.
