Recently I have been getting a pop-up every time I boot up my windows 7 desktop about a temporary paging file.

And also, not long after that, I started getting a message that I have 0 MB of space left. Even after deleting files and some programs, it temporarily said I had some space (I forget how much it said) but then starting saying I had 1 MB of space. I don't understand what is going because I don't even have that much on my desktop.

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Your pagefile might be corrupt.

You could delete it from boot media and also run check disk.

I tried to delete the pagefile.sys according to instructions I found online but I could not find the file and I could not figure out how to enable hidden files in the C drive root. I did run the defragmenter and disk cleanup which neither one helped.

I just now deleted some more programs to free up more space. And then went in and adjusted the size of the pagefile.sys from the pop-up message to a min of 800 mb to 1000 mg and it let me set that. I shutdown and rebooted the system and now the error is no longer there. I hope I did the right thing.
