The big bang theory

I have recently ingested much information on the theories of the origin of the universe. The most widely accepted theory is that the universe began as an infinitely small point (smaller than an atom) which for some yet unknown reason began to expand at an ever increasing rate and continues to expand to this day. This theory goes on to state that our own galaxy is the result of an ancient giant star gone supernova releasing the material that makes up our planets, sun, us and everything else in this galaxy some 4.5 billion years ago. I just have to stand back and ask, do you think this is how it all began? All of the matter, antimatter, stars, planets and organisms came from one infinitely small particle in a brilliant flash of energy? Or do you think this is just a fantasy of todays “great minds” grasping at straws in any attempt to explain the unknown?

We will likely never know. But there are some inferences that can be made from observations. The universe is indeed expanding. And by observing the approximate rate of expansion, the age can be approximated as well. There is some thought that the Universe existed, and compressed into the small point that then "exploded" and began the current process. It's the chicken and the egg on a massive scale. Where did the matter come from in the first place, etc. Since it is likely impossible to know, all we will have is theories based on the point of view of the individuals putting forth such theories. We may all be in a locker in a galactic bus station

Mate, I think it does not depend what we think or not. There are several models to justify the existence of the universe , and the big bang model is the best fit with the observations .

A very few of the observations dont match with this model properly, and so somebody think to adjust the model as a continuous process, from big bang to big crunch , a repeated journey between two singularities. But the big bans is the most appropriate one to describe a lot of facts of physics and chemistry .

Sometimes, after indulging in a few many adult beverages, I ponder the existence of the universe. I've concluded that this universe we live in is just one of perhaps billions upon billions* of universes. As each universe expands it eventually collides with a neighboring universe causing an explosion of astronomical proportions - euphemistically called a Big Bang. And so far no one has been able to prove me wrong.

Hilarious and sad all rolled into an amazing flash of stupid. According to his methodology we should be able to look at Jesus’s year book to see if him and the apostles hung out in high school.

Sheldon Cooper would have a better explanation for the Big Bang.

I don’t need sleep, I need answers. I need to determine where, in this swamp of unbalanced formulas, squatteth the toad of truth

And to make your head explode even more, there's thoughts on the possibility of more than one "Universe". Scientist can only speculate but there seems to be "expansion" in different directions. First thought to be a regression of the The Big Bang may turn out to be no central origin to the expansion.

We (humans) are fortunate to be able to observe large areas of space because our Solar System is near the edge of our Galaxy. It can really make the head hurt trying to comprehend the size of space. We won't know with any real accuracy for billions of years or as they say, until the light gets here. Much of what we see now happened billions of years ago--Before Earth even existed.

The Big Bang may happen over and over too. Expands to a point, everything then collapses in on itself back to thatsame small point then expands back out. Like a heartbeat.


There are many cool theories, many of which seem to make sense. But sadly, we'll never know for sure
