the monitor suddenly freezes

i just installed windows 7 on my desktop. Everything's functioning properly except on random events where my monitor suddenly freezes and displays an image with a lot of lines. I can't figure out the reason for this coz it happens on different occasions. Can anyone please help me with this. Thank you

Yes. Your video card, etc. BTW if you are running 1 gig of ram in 64 bit OS you are running 1/2 of the minimum it needs to run. You might want to consider more ram or the 32bit OS

I use Windows Vista Premium and have had similar problems before. I was able to resolve my computer's problem with some registry cleaner help. This might also help resolve your computer problems. The regitry utility application that I got is also compatible with Windows 7 and other 64-bit Windows operating system.
