Solved Theme Problem

I am having a problem with my Theme personalization. The first image is my current option which lacks the installed theme section. The second image is how it is supposed to be. If I install a 3rd party theme it will go on top of "My Themes" This worked properly at one time and I do not know how to fix it.

I have all of the required tools installed such as Theme Research Changer, Uxtheme, and everything is patched. Any help would be appreciated.

You don't have any custom themes in there Gary.
That's why there not showing up.

In Personalization in Control Panel, there are four types of themes.

My Themes. Themes that you've customized, saved, or downloaded. Any time you make changes to a theme, the new settings appear here as an unsaved theme.

Aero Themes. Windows themes you can use to personalize your computer. All of the Aero themes include Aero glass effects, and many of them include a desktop background slide show. For more information about Aero, see What is the Aero desktop experience?

Installed Themes. Themes that were created by your computer manufacturer or other non-Microsoft providers.

Basic and High Contrast Themes. Themes that are designed to help improve your computer's performance or make items on your screen easier to see. The Basic and High Contrast themes don't include Aero glass effects.

Are you putting 1 theme folder and 1 .theme file in C:\Windows\Resources\Themes?

The theme Gary showed you a pic of the creator creates an installer that adds the theme folder and file to the C:\Windows\Resources\Theme folder automatically .

I have not posted a theme. I have been using third party themes for years. I have over 200 of them in my storage drive. You do not need to link me to a Windows site that is going to tell me what a theme is. I think it would be better if you stayed with Vista and This is Window 7.

Well I removed all of the third party stuff such as Theme Resource changer, reset everything back to normal. I ran sfc /scannow then tried to do the themes again with the same result. I am going back to just using the windows themes.

If you are installing a Theme pack then it shows up under My Theme in Personalization so it looks like you are OK to me, look in C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Themes folder for the theme pack folder AppData is hidden use step 3 of this tutorial to unhide it http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/56005-file-folder-hide-unhide.html
Or is there something else wrong?

The Windows Aero theme is there but that is all. A third party theme is supposed to be listed in Personalization under "Installed Themes" not on top of "My Themes like it is for me. Thanks for the help Bongo but I am not going to fool with this anymore. Third party themes slow you machine down anyway.

You still have me a little confused in post #15 you're talking about theme packs now in your last post here talking about third-party themes.

Third-party custom themes go in C:\Windows\Resources\Themes

Theme packs after double-clicking the file it installs to C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Themes

Here is what they look like before they are installed which one are you trying to use?
