Hi,

The product key is the default key for the installation. You need to activate the installation using the product key as it appears on the COA sticker fixed underneath the laptop, or inside the laptop battery compartment.

On a point of fact:-
This is not the Default Key - it's the manufacturer's (i.e. Toshiba's) OEM_SLP Key
The problem is that the OP appears to have reinstalled Windows using a Retail disk, rather than the manufacturer's Recovery media, so the install is missing the proper licenses for the OEM_SLP Key to be able to self-activate.

Solution is the same, though - change the Key to the one on the COA sticker.

Well my client may be purchasing a set of recovery disks from Toshiba since the license numbers are worn off of the COA sticker.

I'm not certain. I don't know if Toshiba uses a hidden partition that's not viewable in Windows Explorer. Everything that I've done thus far has been done remotely and I'll need to get some hands on time with the computer to find out where we stand. In the interim I used the SLMGR to buy him some time.
