Hi All,
This is my first post here after reading in this forum for a while. Here's a little background on my problem.
Quite some time ago I bought a sandisk usb 3.0 card reader and a Orico usb 3.0 pci-e card (nec chip). I installed the card+drivers all ok. Connected the usb for the first time and tested it. From the test with a fast CF card I was able to get maximum speed of the card (~90mb/s). After a few days of just general usage(shut down when not in use). I get this message "This device can perform faster". In the beginning I thought that's strange but thought nothing of it as I was going to re-install windows anyway.
After reinstalling windows and all drivers I get the same message straight away. So I proceeded to test the speed of the usb. This time I got only usb 2.0 speed (35mb/s).
This is what I've tried so far.
Reinstalled usb 3.0 card driver.
Double checked the power to the card.
Checked all connections is tight and the cable is usb3 cable.
I also used usb tree view to try and find out whats's going on with usb port. From what I figured It detects both the card and the card reader to be super speed capable. But I cant figure out why it's not connecting at super speed.
What am I missing?
In the past I was working in the computer industry for 5 years as a general technician. So I am just at a loss with this problem.
Hopefully someone can point out what I've missed.
Thanks in advance.
