I used a new DAP Player over the weekend which connects via a USB type C, ever since using this DAP i cannot connect to any of my previous devices (on any USB port)

I have tried different sources ie sandisk storage a different DAP etc all these were fine previously. https://www.sevenforums.com/images/smilies/cry.gif

they all show as this under Device manager WPD filesystem volume driver "This device cannot start. (Code 10)" i have tried uninstalling drivers then rebooting also tried altering REGEDIT (HKEY LOCAL MACHINE etc)but the items are never seen

any help would be much appreciated

thanks

Hi jef2, welcome to sevenforums,

Does the DAP Player appear in the Add/Remove Programs?
Are there any errors (Yellow triangles) in the Device Manager.
Did you backup the registry first?

Hi jef2,

Yes, Yellow triangles and yes its seen under devices and printers

Devices and Printers is different to what I was talking about.
Go to Control Panel and clik Device Manager, expand ALL the + on the left and see if there are any errors (Yellow triangles).

I hope this helps!

Hi jef2,

Does it give you the option to Delete that particular device in the Device Manager?
If so, delete it and then restart.

I hope this helps!

Hi [Bjef2[/B],

Your problem could be caused by outdated or corrupted drivers.
Try downloading and installing the latest drivers from the actual website as opposed to clicking update in the driver properties.

I hope this helps!

so when i follow Restore "usbstor.inf" thread/fix above it says copy over the usbstor.inf & .PNF from the latest(it has todays date) usbstor.inf_xxxxxxxx. inside this file only these two exist: usbstor.PNF & USBSTOR.SYS there is nothing else inside there, also if i go back to previous usbstor.infxxxxx from 2016 it is just the same.
im really stuck with this as i stated previously everything worked fine until i plugged in an IBASSO DAP(this did not work originally as it had a faulty lead but everything else worked i source a new lead it worked but then everything else did not)

i also get an file access denied error (see attached ) when i try to copy the two file(PNF SYS) to windows/inf
