This Font Issue has been a problem for almost a week now

I did a lot of searching on this issue but have so far found only solutions involving chaning themes, holding control and spinning the mouse wheel and changing the default font in windows. Unfortunately none of those easy fixes has helped at all, so I looked around and found these forums. These are great looking forums and even if I don't resolve this issue here, I think I will stick around because it looks like a great resource to have all the same.

I did search through the forums, and i will be the first to admit I am not the most efficient searcher in the world, but so far I only found more of the same answers I was coming up with through google and yahoo and answers, etc.

So I will ask the question again for you folks, but at least this time I can post a screener with it so you can see what I am talking about and why these other fixes aren't really what I am looking at for this issue.

Basically all of the text on buttons, interface stuff (boxes, buttons, window titles, etc) are tiny. Sometimes the desktop icons have their text shrink down as well, and THAT I fix by changing the theme, but that does nothing for any other window/font size problems. The window I open when testing fixes is usually the minecraft launcher as I use that a lot, but it is pretty much ALL windows/apps that are doing this not just minecraft not to mention the text displayed in the browsers/text editors/etc appear as normal but all of the interface related text is tiny.

This is what I see when I open something (ie the linecraft launcher in this case)

[image deleted finding a better host for better resolution]

So, like I said it isn't ALL text, it is the text inside of buttons, window titles, etc. The text inside the window (the News text) is normal. I have tried doing system restores and about the only option left I can think of is a wipe and reinstall and I SoooOOOOooo do not want to do that. :D

Help??

Seriously though, thanks in advance for any help or information or for even just trying!
Thank you,
Mark

Hi BigDaddyEcig, welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

Have you tried increasing the text size. To do that Right Click on the Desktop Screen & select Screen Resolution, then select Make Text & Other Items Larger or Smaller. You can select one of those sizes to try.

Thanks guys, but I had already tried all of those suggestions and nothing makes a difference. I even tried creating a new user and disabling Themes service as well thinking it might be a corrupted theme or something like that. I will admit, much to my chagrin at this stage, that I am a computer technician (well I was for a long time but am now disabled so I have been out of circulation [so to speak] for almost 8 years). I started searching online only after exhausting everything I could think of. I do appreciate the responses though, and if anyone has any more suggestions please don't hesitate to throw them my way as I am truly at a loss on this one.

Is there some kind of app that could be affecting my fonts or properties for the various title bars, buttons, etc? Like adobe or something or some dll/runtime or another?? I checked my task manager but did not notice any processes that looked out of place. Although, now that I am thinking about it, doesn't Windows 7 have some sort of a process that has to do with font management or is my aging memory failing me??

-BigDaddyEcig

PS. I am getting close to a system wipe at this point as I already tried a restore back to my oldest restore point. ..and I so do NOT want to do that..

Thanks you. I haven't had time to check out all the features of the forums yet. I wish more bbs/forums had built in image hosting like that! This is only the second one I belong to that does it.

Well here is the screenshot again, so you can see how only the text in the title bar(s), buttons, widgets etc are affected while normal text displays are generally normal.

Actually, I meant to try a safe mode startup and never did, I will definitely try a clean startup to rule out any erraneous processes thanks. Oh and I did go through the font selections for all of the options in the color configuration you are showing in the screen shot, and what happens to me is happening in all of my Windows UI widgets. I am starting to think that maybe I have a corrupted visual studio runtime of some kind or another. Like a C runtime or something. I am going to try the clean and then safety boots now, if that works then I guess I start switching things off in the config/startup or uninstalling junk. :) Thanks for the tip though, I probably would have never remembered to go back and do that. Medication can be a real *&$#@ sometimes.

Hmm, did you ever try changing the Aero Theme to something else? If that works, try changing it back to what it was.
