Three different tasks on three different monitors using one laptop

Is there a software to enable me to use two or three different external monitors and run a different application on each using my laptop as the source?

I would like to have my karaoke program running on my laptop screen, my words on an external (or 2) and a video of the singer on another external big screen possibly using either a network monitor or webcam.

I'm currently using a 4 way external monitor device utilizing 3 external monitors but can only get the same display on all the externals.

Thanks

What video ports are available on your laptop? Make and model of the laptop would help. The hardware has to support it before you worry about software. It sounds like you have a video splitter hooked up, if so you can't make it show different screens on the different monitors connected to it, its not designed to do that. If your laptop supports multiple displays you can activate that function by pressing the windows key and the P key, then select "Extend" from the menu. It may only support dual displays natively. If that's the case you'll have to resort to a external USB connected Video card or two.

Sorry,, it's a thinkpad t-61 Lenovo. Only one video connection on the machine. USB video card? By using it would I be able to view a webcam or different operation on a separate screen? i.e. show presenter program on the laptop screen,, karaoke display screen on two external monitors using a splitter from the laptop video plug,, then a separate screen showing the singer performing onstage (using the usb video card)?

My main karaoke program currently runs on my laptop screen. I extend the destop to where the words and audience screen run off the splitter screens.

I hope I was clear enough. thanks

All you have to do is move the window for the program to the monitor you want it displayed on. Hold the Windows key and shift key down and press the left or right arrow key and the active window will move from screen to screen. You can drag and drop a window from monitor to monitor too.
This is an example of a USB Video Card, Buy the IOGEAR GUC2015V External VGA Video Card at TigerDirect.ca

I can do all that,, I want to run my sax and dotty's on my laptop screen,, then the picture of the karaoke/sax and dotty's vocals on an external screen then a video cam/network camera taking video of the singer on the third monitor,, all run from my laptop. I don't have a problem with switching screens,, destop to external and back,, I want to do three different tasks on three separate screens.

thanks

Ok, that's fine but your laptop only supports dual displays. The video out jack that you are using on your laptop can only support one monitor. It only outputs one video signal, that's all it can do and software won't change that. If it was a desktop PC you could add another internal video card but its a laptop so your only option is an external video card. USB is the simple option for this.

Okay,, you've been a great help,, So, if I understand you right, an external usb video card would allow me to run a separate app, (i.e. internet explorer or firefox w/net camera or a web cam) on a screen by itself. Sax and dotty main program on the laptop, karaoke words/audience screen on however many external monitors I want to use (usually 2) then using the usb video card I can run my firefox w/cam on a separate monitor at the same time?

Another question, providing all the above is in progress,,, what about processor and/or memory problems? Seems like quite a load for this little Lenovo?:)

Thanks so much

What is the Windows Experience Index (WEI) for your laptop? It takes a lot of PC power to run multiple video output content. Dropouts, lag or freezes may occur. All the programs run on your laptop. Where you choose to display the video output from each program is the option. You do this by clicking (and holding) on header or title bar of each program and drag it to the display. Once there, it will stay there until you move it somewhere else. Even on closing the program and reboot. The next time you start that program it will appear on the last display chosen.

As Kerry states though, your PC must have a video port for each display.

Here's a link to multi-display setup: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Move-windows-between-multiple-monitors

3.3/3.1 is just about as low as it gets. You may have issues trying to do what you described above. It wouldn't surprise me if stuff stutters or pauses on you.
