I'm rendering quite a few pictures on 2 computers for a few days now. The machines are working stable, although their temperature is medium to high. Not to risk anything, i want to give them a little brake once in a while, just to chill out... Thats why i'm looking for a program that gives me the possibility to throttle cpu for a certain time, time-controlled, so i need't to be around.

I thought I can throttle the cpu with a powerplan which allows only a certain max of cpu-usage... so... anybody know a programm to switch timecontrolled between power-plans?

ah, well done - you can normally find the answer somewhere amongst Brink's legendary tutorials.

did you manage to integrate it ok with the task scheduler?

Yes. the shourtcuts arent really necessary.

In the task manager one needs to create a new task, which opens a program: powercfg.exe . for the attributes you have to type "/setactive [powerscheme-GUID]".

and the powerscheme-guid (long row of numbers) you want, you get from cmd>'powercfg.exe -list' .

voila ^^.
