I'm assuming you are using WLM if so try this
In WLM go to tools then accounts click your WLM default account then properties then advanced in the window that appears and you should have this, check or uncheck leave mail on server then send yourself an Email and see if it works I hope this helps and works for you.

IMAP does not allow "Leave copy on Server"

Thank you BrightBlessings for your reply, but after following your instructions, my Gmail account Windows Live Mail does not have the option "leave a copy on server". Gmail requires IMAP protocol which seems to be the problem. Is there a fix in Windows Live Mail?

Hi and welcome.

You are responding to a 7 year old thread, it is best to start one of your own.

However, I can say that I use Gmail and have it configured as POP.
