Yes Bill and very popular at the weekends. The food and the ambience are very good. It is very popular with families and caters for all ages. Our party had all ages from 18 months to my cousin in his late 70's.

In the UK, the British commonwealth, parts of Europe and I think the US. It remembers the poppy fields of Flanders where so many were killed in the 1914-1918 war. It celebrates the anniversary of the armistice which brought that war to an end on 11th November 1918. It has since been a remembrance of the fallen in all subsequent wars.

Veterans day is what we call it today.

In the USA, Veterans Day annually falls on November 11. This day is the anniversary of the signing of the armistice, which ended the World War I hostilities between the Allied nations and Germany in 1918. Veterans are thanked for their services to the United States on Veterans Day.

We honor are fallen on Memorial Day also.

Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, is a day of remembrance for those who have died in service of the United States of America.

If one displays the Poppy flower on 11, 11, 11 it shows that one respects those that have served.

It's kind of like the Day of Valor, you have in the Philippines.

rigz if you haven't had the chance to do a in-depth research WWII in the Philippines I highly recommend doing so. It will be a learning experience.
