Hello everyone:
I just wanted to stop by here and say hi and to let everyone know I am still alive. It has been a tough few moths since the move but it is starting to pick up and mom-in-law is doing ok. The hardest thing for me I believe is seeing someone who was so alive and jovial become repressed and closed off. She cannot remember who's home she is in (hers) or the day of the week unless Bingo or Law and Order is involved so we are going with that and it seems to be working so far. I do miss being here and being involved with helping people but I have found that the time is better spent at least at the moment lear5ning how to deal with dementia and it's effects on the patient and people around them. we are going to try and start taking a weekend off once a month and go visit old friends around the state just to have some time together and not involving the pressure of caring for someone. Hope all is well with the denizens of these great forums and if you need anything just message me. Email works too.

It's tough Herb. My sister's husband went that way. The important thing is to look after yourself as well as your mother-in-law. Don't make yourself ill.

Got my new router today and will sort it out tomorrow not fit enough today to do anything, then it's roll on Monday.

Router all installed and machines connected, now it is roll on Monday. Not long ago I suddenly remembered I still had my Nintendo 3DS XL to connect, that connected OK still have my other Nintendo DS to do but that can wait.

Struggled a bit but got there in the end, especially trying to keep some cables from slipping down the back of the filing cabinet while sorting out others.

Yes although I've not played it for months and the battery is still showing as full. I have all the Professor Layton games and I had to get the 3D version to be able to play the last ones in the series.

Just messing around after I'd got it connected then went and took a 3D photo of outside though the window, it was quite cool.

Joan, trick from my old days on site - BlueTac, roll a cylinder of a suitable length and you can hold the cables on the cabinet, you can even hold them in the order needed, and of course BluTac is reusable

Thanks Nigel that's a good tip, mind you at present don't think we've got any. It's a tall 4 drawer office filing cabinet, we've got one each, hopefully I won't have to fiddle with cables again for a while.
