Really? How do you get your engine running in the mornings?

I remember the coffee we got when doing my obligatory 11 months conscription service in the Finnish navy. According to the rumors the recipe was simple: fill a 10 liter (about 2.5 gallons) pot with boiling water, add the coffee grounds. Mix, try if an assault rifle stays upright in the middle of the pot without help. If not, add coffee until it does.

When ready, that black tar they called coffee was also used as fuel in patrol boats.

I do have and use at times my little coffee grinder.
Different grinds and different beans do change the flavor a lot.

The Bunn I chose for a reason. It does nothing but make coffee.
Two buttons, no timer, radio, alarm, or clock ect.

The coffee maker stores pre-heated water at a exact temperature so it doesn't take but about 90 to 120 seconds to make my coffee. My coffee is nothing but coffee, water and a pinch of salt.

I do not drink coffee out of plastic or stainless steel cups when I'm home. They leave a flavor in the coffee. I pre-heat my cups with hot water. It' helps keep the proper temperature.

Amazing what one will spend and do for a proper cup of coffee.

Some how I can't get StarBucks coffee beans to taste as good as StarBucks coffee I buy when I'm out and about.

I just get up and go. I don't eat breakfast or lunch. I drink bottled water all day. I eat a snack when get home, dinner later, and something dessert (cookies, ice cream, pudding ring cake). A Guy

I have to have breakfast, cereal & toast & coffee, or I run out of energy mid-morning & get a headache.

I don't need a heart starter first thing & I able to run at full throttle from waking up, not like some that take a few hours to hit on all cylinders.

That is ridiculous, you should get up much earlier

I don't have nothing to do all day and I get up between 4:30 and 5 AM and go to bed by 10 PM usually except weekends.

Yea I usually have to take a nap at 3pm if I wake up too early which is getting pretty often

All one has to do is have several heart attacks and then a 5 bypass.
Then one can retire.
Now I can sleep when tired and get up when I'm no longer tired no matter what time of day or night it happens to be. It doesn't matter.
Only two things wake me prematurely, my cat or my bladder. Most of the time it's the cat wanting something.

Proof that everything has a plus side if one looks for it.

A little fact I learned about coffee today from a StarBuck coffee expert on the radio.

The darker the roast (coffee bean) the less caffeine. That is why the energy drinks use green coffee beans, (more caffeine).
You will get a stronger flavor but less caffeine with a darker grind.

I don't have a problem with the caffeine, my problem is the acid. That's why I only drink coffee that comes out of the big Italien coffee machines.

Wolfgang I do know what where you are coming from. Acid is also a problem for me. I have not problem with caffeineeeeeee.

Two things I do. One is adding a pinch or two of salt or one could also add some ground up egg shell.
It helps with the acid and bitterness.
Of course if one uses creams, sugars or the like in their coffee they are not having a bitter problem. I drink my coffee black and bitter, (no sweeteners).
