Today, my wife comes back from Salt Spring Island. Visiting family

I am a Law Abiding Citizen (I like it more without quotes!) with zero social skills

Anyway, as I mentioned in my last post the red turd is suddenly gone.

Theme change: Today is a typical example of my insomnia, about which I've told a few times earlier. It's almost 9AM here but for me this is still yesterday, if you get my point. Night before I slept under two hours, night before that about the same.

Been online whole night, took sleeping pills (2) about 11PM but they have still not kicked in...

This must be getting you down Kari. Are you seeing anyone about it?
Sleeping pills have a short half life in the body so, after taking them, you have about half hour to an hour for them to start making you drowsy. You need to get to bed then.
If you stay up you will get past the effective period of the medication. Also alcohol will act as a stimulant and help you overcome the effect of the tablets.
I'm a long term sufferer and the only way to do it is to be strict with yourself, go to bed and remove all stimuli-no music, tv or pc- although a little reading sometimes helps.

On a lighter note I see there's a Finnish people group and I also found a sweet thread where people petition John to change their user name.
A load of us could change our names to Finnish common names and the group would be huge
Or you could just have a "Friends of Finland" subgroup

I'm seeing a sleeping disorder specialist regularly.

All my posts at the nighttime are always written from bed. Like last night, I took the pills and went to bed. I waited over an hour, tried to fall asleep. Only when I noticed it's not working, I grabbed the mouse and the keyboard from night stand and turned TV in bedroom on and started surfing.

As a chronic insomniac I understand your frustration. If I get 2 hours it is a good night. Sedatives are useless, and staying in bed futile.

So I, like you, find my way back to the computer till I am so tired I can fall asleep. Usually the sun is coming up by then.
