The most boring, annoying day at the computer fair ever! My guests, all 4 of them, have basically no interest in anything else than drinking, so we have spent the afternoon in beer tent. I don't think I'll manage to get them to the hotel without some help. Luckily I'll go home later tonight, tomorrow they'll come back here without me. If they sober enough...

Sitting and watching these otherwise decent German men making fools of them selfs, wondering how they change when they feel important, when everything is free. Surfing forums with my Nokia, reading new posts.

Really boring! Luckily I come back to CeBIT 2010 this weekend, with computer enthusiast friends. I feel stupid to pay these clowns here and spend the day drinking beer at the worlds biggest IT fair. Who the h*** still thinks the customer is always right?

Sad and alone, after a long and difficult day. Angie just called (Skype & Cam) from Austrian / Italian border where she and her friends stopped for the night on their way to Rome.

I'll drive tomorrow morning to Solingen to our small second home, have to be there couple of days because of this not-so-pleasant-anymore-work of mine. Have to be there around 10AM so I have to start early; although it's mostly no speed limit autobahn and I have a fast car, it's still 500 kilometers, about 320 miles and Friday morning traffic can cause some surprises. Back home in Leipzig latest on Sunday, giving the nurse some days off and taking care of my mother-in-law.

Started at 5:30am from Leipzig, arrived in Solingen 500 km (320 miles) away at 9:20AM. Not too bad time, considering I had an almost half an hour break on the road to to fill the tank and get some breakfast.

Found apartment here in terrible condition; we had borrowed it to a son of a friend visiting from Finland with his girlfriend and it seems they do not know how to wash the dishes or clean and they seemingly like to eat meals from the floor. Would like to post a pic to show this chaos but I am too ashamed to do that.

First thing to do was to call cleaners. Had a short meeting at 10AM, then to pub to let cleaners to do their job (nice excuse). Promised to stay away at least a couple of hours, so sitting here ATM with my second whisky and laptop.

Dinner tonight, one official reception tomorrow afternoon and early Sunday morning a nice drive first to Hanover to pick two friends of mine from an early train from Leipzig, then a nice day at CeBIT IT fair and late in the evening drive back home.

Feeling a bit bored...

EDIT: Just after posting above, I got a call from one of the friends I should meet early Sunday morning to go to the fair. It seems that we experienced CeBIT goers have made a major mistake in our plans: traditionally we have always visit the fair on last day, Sunday. My mate had noticed he'd lost his eTicket so he had printed it again and only now noticed that this year, first time in CeBIT history, the fair closes already on Saturday.

Took my complimentary ticket from the briefcase and checked, it's true. Called already and cancelled my participation to this reception tomorrow, going to fair with mates is this time more important than any work related stuff, so picking up the guys already 8:30 tomorrow morning from train and going to the fair.

How the h*** did we not notice that earlier? And why is it that they have shortened the fair?

The problem is, he's the son of one of my oldest friends back home in Finland, this trip to Germany was our engagement present to him and the girlfriend.

They stayed here ten days but this morning it looked like nobody had cleaned here in about a year or so.

I really have to show this although I'm really ashamed to do that. This pic shows the small kitchen of the apartment in question. Those empty milk cartons show they drank about 3 liters of milk every day during their ten day visit:

Well, i just got up now Tired of having this flu. Gonna throw a pizza in the oven in a few moments, and then maybe sit and watch some College Basketball on ESPN America
Also today, i think i will install Windows 7 on another partion on my main PC (So i got two Win7 Ultimate x64 installs )

Well its good to see everyone is on there regular run for today.
Kari, damn man that's nuts I guess those kids don't know what a trash bag looks like.
Since I's in the states I'm just getting my work day started, then off to see my realtor and the house I'm thinking about buying then its off to have a few drinks with the group sleep then packing my bad to fly to London for my two weeks of work there. There is just not enough hours in the day anymore....
