Well, apart from the awarding of gold turds (congrats), it sounds like a couple of bad things have happened since yesterday.
Joan. I sincerely hope your man's improving. This must be very worrying.
And LilDomii. I bet that hurts. I imagine the bleeding will have stopped by now but your recovery will no doubt be painful and unpleasant. Having had a recent painful injury myself I totally sympathise. Get well soon.
For those who've never handled one a cricket ball is made of solid wood tightly wrapped in leather. They are quite heavy and very hard indeed. Like being hit by a three inch rock, ouch indeed!

Thanks everyone for the thoughts, he's got a bit more movement as the day's gone on. It is something that's happened before but it was a few years ago and at that time the doctor put it down to age and worn out ligaments, he's only 61 now though, he's had the occasional twinge but today he was in a lot of pain and literally couldn't use his arms it was too painful to move them.
The doctor today said he wants to take bloods to see if there's an underlaying cause for it and he was going to fax over a prescription for the chemist to bring out for us.

We had to cancel the appointment to take the cat back to the vet for his injection, I don't think the cat would worry about that though

Having been one dare I suggest that we look at this from the Boss's point of view. Looking at Jack's numerous post suggests he would be an important member of any team so his time is valuable!!!
But then I'm an old fogey, you're right, What do I know?

It was not a proper cricket match, our school does a sport curriculum that involves us young teenagers how to play. I was in a group of 8 playing a mini-game. A kid kid didn't know the first thing about how to bowl, and he just launched it at me...

I've never tried lobster, but bacon-wrapped scallops are wonderful......looks good!

+1 for scallops and bacon. Lobster is very expensive in the UK and I always thought it was over rated, basically a big prawn.
Do you get Monk Fish tail in the States? Real deep sea ugly thing but I think that's like lobster only nicer.
God. It's nearly midnight here and I've got to sleep and get up for work but all I can think of is eating shellfish
