Had a friend of my mom's call me about a computer problem. It was the BSOD. There is some kind of driver issue involved i'm sure, cause when booting it back up i swear i got 10 messages about 10 different things with missing or bad drivers. Not to mention they havent ran windows xp update since like 2005 or eailer.

I'm hoping they give me permission to wipe this thing clean instead of going through this mess. It runs sooooo slow with only 512 RAM and pentium 4.

Also this machine had about half an inch of dust everywhere inside of it, which i have already cleaned.

I'll bet that machine runs better than the Vista machine I am dealing with. 1GB RAM, loaded with programs, which include iTunes and all the invasive Apple software. Bonjour running in the backgound, you know the deal.

yea, they need to start teaching basic computer care in high school or something to make our job easier

In my experience multiple random BSOD's with changing error messages usually point to either bad RAM and/or a flakey/failing PSU...

Thanks, those are possibilies. This computer is 8 years old. So there is no telling which parts are about to crack.

Run Memtest86+ on your computer for a few hours and see what turns up.

Early this morning I ordered a new mobile phone, a Nokia N900. Had to order it from UK because I like to have all my manuals and software in English. In my native Finland and all other Scandinavian countries I could choose the language, but here in Germany you get only German.

Finishing work today quite early, I have to spend some quality time with my wife this weekend. She's driving down to Rome, Italy, mid next week, staying about three weeks. Me and a couple of nurses are taking over the care of her old mother during this time.

My wife has been waiting this trip. We used to live in Rome, the apartment was sold a long time ago but we still have a garage full of our stuff there and good friends to visit. Angie, my wife, was very active in the local German Lutheran church there, the biggest protestant congregation in Italy, and has stayed active even we now live back in Germany. We, especially she, still often go there to help in Christmas cake sale and other occasions and meet friends.

Now she really has something to wait: during her visit, the Church Women's Club celebrates its 125th anniversary, first Sunday there is going to be a special service to inaugurate new Church bells (she helped a lot in fund raising) and the second Sunday the current German Pope is going to do an ecumenical visit to participate the service in our old Church.

Long story short: Even though I feel sad I can not go with her, I'm happy I can help here with her mother so she can make a trip and get some time to her self. She takes two of her best friends with her, they drive over the Alps a couple of days there, two weeks in Rome, and drive back.

It's really nice to be in love. It's especially nice to be in love with your own wife!

Need to explain a bit: I've been married before without being in love, or being married and at the same time in love with somebody else, couple of times in somebody else's wife. I find it very refreshing to be in love with my own wife.

Life is no longer so complicated...
