It could be as simple as going to HP and getting a video, and touch pad driver. Try that first

Thank you for the quick reply Ken,

I have already tried reinstalling both the drivers but the problem still exists.

Sometimes when I boot, the display just goes into a black screen forever.
And at times the touchpad hangs and stop functioning and/or display changes into a lower resolution at the boot screen itself.

The only way out of this is using the tab key to restart the computer and when computer restarts everything becomes normal.

You may have a hardware confloict.

Does it do it in safemode?

Did you get your display driver from intel? I have the same chipset and intel's works

If I do have a hardware confilict, what can I do???

Yes, it works on the safemode.

And its not a permanent issue. The problems happen only at times. And when I do a restart the computer everything work like a charm.

Did you fix it?

Hi BobbyGeorge,
I have the same problem with my laptop (Asus K40IJ, upgraded from Vista to Win 7). It worked very well for 6 months after the upgrade, but right now I have problems during windows starting as you described. My question is; did you already fix it? Or do you have any suggestions for me? I tried reinstall the operating system, but it did not help. It drives me crazy.
Thanks for reply
