I just bought a new laptop with Windows 7. I installed the same copy of MS Office 2003 that I am running on my old laptop with Windows Vista. I am able to copy the Outlook files from the old computer, but I don't know where to copy them into the new computer. Can anyone help me?
John Pav.

Can't sort out what I need from this reply

Thanks for the link to the info about moving 2003 Outlook to a new computer. I have read the instructions several times, and am a bit confused. I don't use anything in Outlook except the calendar. I am only interested in transfering all my calendar entries on the old computer into the same 2003 version of Outlook on my new computer. Can someone simply the instructions to cover only this?
John

John,
If all you current use is the Calendar then all that should be in the Outlook data file is your calendar. If that is true then just copy the entire Outlook data file.

To get only part of the data you could:
1) Do a selective export. Then import the data into the new Outlook.
2) copy the Outlook Data file (pst) to the new PC. Open the Outlook. Open the second PST file. Drag or copy the stuff you want from the old Outlook folders to the new Outlook folders. I have done this with Contacts and emails. Not tried it with a Calendar.

It it were mine, I would use the Windows 7 Transfer Wizard to move all your data from the Old PC to the new one. I have transferred over 100 PCs this way with great success.

Thanks for your help

I just want to thank Irene and Boyd for taking the time to provide the help and assistance that they posted in response to my request. Even though I wasn't able to completely follow either of your advices, I was able to combine enough thoughts and ideas from both of your posts to successfully transfer my MS2003 Outlook calendar entries to my new computer.
I am impressed with your knowledge, and your willingness to help out like you did.
Thanks, again to both of you.
John
