Tricky cloning question to SSD drive -

Long story short, I configured the SSD as we discussed and received a message essentially saying I was attempting to use a different version of Windows and the “required device no accessible” . Asked for the startup disk and when inserted it offered me the option to do a system restore. I took that and 7 hours later I have a fully functional SSD (none of my files) ( see attached).
A bit disappointed as I have to invest the time in a fresh install but then again I will have a fresh install. TH attached is a shot of the new drive in place.
I have an all in one machine so it takes a bit of doing to swap them out. The “new” machine really screams. 3rd gen i7 plus SSD is the way to go.
Question – Now I have two 1TB drives 3.5 inch sitting here with no use. And no way to wipe them. Thoughts on how ?

Why the heck did you do a "system restore"??? SSD is fresh so nothing to rollback anyway. But it's fully working now?

Only problem is he wiping of the old disk(s)? Just attach them to your computer (or any other computer) and wipe them using partitioning software

While I was trying to boot from the SSD it wouldnt recognize the hardware. I suspect Sony did something very strange & new. Anyway it works great. SATA 6 !

In an all in one system all I have are free usb ports and no extra sata power or cable access.

How did you clone if only one cable is available? Did you boot from SSD on same system as where the original HDD was used all the time?

If you had performed a "disk clone" in easus partition manager it had copied whole HDD. even if it's smaller!!
Free Disk Copy Wizard to clone hard disk drive to upgrade disk or transfer all hard drive data under Windows Server 2008/2003/2000 and Windows 2000/XP/Vista/Windows 7/8.

Then detach HDD and do a "startup repair". Maybe 3 times. But then the system should boot. Of course activate boot from SSD in BIOS.

What hardware it didn't recognize??? It's still same hardware!
Was HDD connected as IDE and SSD as SATA? If so, you should install SATA drivers first on HDD and then clone

If all was working... you can delete partitions not needed anymore and resize/move partitions.

Samsung drive come with a USB cable that has a bar on the other end that covers both the power & data ports.

If you had cloned... disks have maybe same signature as well. How to Change the Disk Signature of a Drive Without Losing Existing Data or Reformatting (howtohaven.com) not import now I assume.

But how did you clone? Or how did you put win7 on ssd? It should be connected somewhere

After copying the partitions over I installed it in housing (takes 10 minutes) then booted. It wont boot off the cable wven if I direct it in bios.

I need to find a cable w/power that can run the drives to wipe them through a usb port. Or take to a regular desktop system and run partition software. I need to do this to sell on eBay.

You can connect HDD to system like you always had!! Do you have win7 installation DVD? you can wipe from that. Wanna know how?

Yes, please. But remember I dont have a MS disk. Just OEM system restore.

special disk to reset to factory settings? That's not what I mean.
Create a "system repair disk" this is how http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/2083-system-repair-disc-create.html

Attach the old hdd to be wiped to system. Boot form the CD you created
Answer a few simple questions then you see:

Select Command pormpt

Use the DISKPART method. Clean to delete partitions only. But CLEAN ALL to rewrite everyting. CLEAN ALL is the way to go.

Please be sure to CLEAN ALL the correct disk!

What surprised me is that Samsung ships Norton Ghost with the drive. Not only did it not see hidden drives (EFI) but Samsung although thye make a great product has fairly poor tech support. As does Sony. Sony is by far the worst I've come across in a long time. THey lie and misrepresent things in their favor constantly.

All bloatware. And most of the time trial versions. And very often not even uninstallable. Just adware....

That's why I always do a clean install

c: xp64
d: data
i: win7

and so on

P: lacie external hdd
H: wd external hdd
F: wd internal data hdd

i have
hdd1 (c,d,i) si on sata1 port,
ssd on sata2 port
wd (f) on sata 3

now i want to clone win7 in samsung 830 ssd.
I will mantain same I: letter drive to avoid any apps association
Now i see these drive letter in last box of cloning process:
"none", k, m,n,o,p,.....
so after ssd boot i will use delete old winxp and win7 from hdd.

how can i do?

You only want to clone win7 partition, so only partition with letter I should be cloned? If all succeeds you want to delete c: xp64 and i: win7 (old one on hdd)?

How many GB is SSD?
