i didnt recreate it. i ran win 8 automatic repair like you said then i booted into win 7 and you asked me to take pictures of the bootmgmt and it was there.
i told you in my very first post i had the linux bootloader with win 8 and ubuntu already on a separate hdd.
i dont see why i need to do anything else to this. its perfect just the way it is.
