Trouble finding PC on XBOX 360 for streaming

Well, remote access does have to deal with accessing your files remotely, so yes. I would set it to manual for now on. That is what mine is set to. I'm surprised it would continue working after disabling it again. Do me a favor. Set it to manual, then restart both the computer and the xbox and let me know if you can get it working again.

OK... I set to Manual, restarted both, lost connection, put back to automatic, restarted both, and stayed connected... and just for shits and giggles, I went to the Media center extender ON THE XBOX, and it linked right up to my PC and My PC automatically started installing the extender Driver... that has never happened

Looks like automatic is the way to go with that service then. Leave it as automatic and you should be fine.

Oh, you mean when you click the thing in the notification area, the window that pops up shows it. That just tells you others may be able access the files on your computer. I wanted you to do manual so you would be a little more secure, but as long as you have nortons firewall on you should be fine. Also, is your network secured (i.e. need a password for when connecting new stuff to it). If not the symbol will be there anyways. If so, then you shouldn't have too much to worry about.

Yeah, I have it on WPA2-PSK... and my Norton is always running.... is there anyway to tell if someone IS somehow stealing my Wireless? Cause I have alot of neighbors, and The one across the street has there Desktop practically hanging out the window, and there is an antenna looking thing hanging out by a wire, and there are always people parked in the parking lot next door with Laptops

Yes. Since you have 7 its real easy. Open explorer and go to Network in the list of folders that are on the left side. You can also see by going to Network and Sharing Center in control panel and clicking "See Full Map." Any computers on your network should appear in one or both places. It looks like my dads XP computer only appears as Unknown in the network map, but I can see his computer in the Network folder just fine. If you see a pc or other device that is not yours, you should change the password for you network and also make sure you change the username and password for your router. If you don't change the password for your router, someone else could potentially access your router and turn off your network password.

Another way to avoid people stealing you internet is that some routers have an option to make your network invisable. In other words when seeking to connect to your network, people can't do it unless they already know the name of your network. If you do have that option and use it, make sure the name of your router isn't something like Linksys. Change it to the name of a favorite video game, like CODMW2 for example, or something else you can remember but might be hard for someone who has never met you to guess.

I'm not familiar with network magic. I assume you are talking about the Cisco software. It is very likely you would if it the map shows you computer, router, and xbox.

hey,

I am having the same problem. i have googled and been working at this for hours trying to conceit my 360 to my laptop. I've been working on this for 7 hour with no luck.

yesterday i sync my pc WMC to my 360 WMC and I did something after and it disconnect. I think I made a Home Group maybe but I don't remember. The next day "today" I Tried to conceit them and no luck.

My laptop can see my 360 in full map, Network and Media Streaming Options..

My Xbox 360 and PS3 see nothing! :/

I have done everything I can and tried found on google!

I have a Linksys WRT300N V1, both 360 and PS3 are wired. I've tried my laptop wireless, Wired and Wired/Wireless..
