Solved Trouble getting xp to install in dual boot with 7

Gregg, I think everything is sorted down to the LAN. I do have a question for you though. I've been running paragon in the automatic mode. If I ran it in the manual mode would it tell me what it needs? If it needs to run in IDE then it's a no go because that would defeat the performance of the SSD and although it wouldn't bother me if it was my computer (I'd just change the settings depending on what OS I wanted to run, My friend would find it difficult.) Again, Gregg, thanks for all of your help so far. This probably isn't going to work out but I just can't give up on problems like these until I find a solution. :)

Well, I never give up....NEVER!! I finally found the drivers needed for XP home to work in AHCI. I got them from this zip file http://downloadmirror.intel.com/20775/eng/infinst_autol.zip. I haven't yet tried incorporating them into an XP home installation disc, but they were the ones I used with Paragon visualization manager after imaging my OS from my old computer. Using the P2P option to fit an old OS onto a new system. XP booted up in AHCI and then I installed the rest of the drivers from the MoB Disc. Thanks again to all who tried to help me, you actually did give me a lot of info that got me thinking in the right direction. Also I hope that this can help others working with the z77 chipset.
