Hey there..
Small tidbit of Info

I have a Home network...
I.S.P. to Router (Linksys WRT610N) To a Switch (Linksys SD2008) To computers...

Now my problem occurs when i try to set up my Workgroup

I can connect and see two desktops which are connected to my switch both using Windows 7 Ultimate...

But my laptops connected to my Router cannot access anything on my switch...

When i do a Network Map on my router i do see all the computers connected both wired and wireless BUT Windows 7 wont let me connect...

One of the laptops is a Windows 7 Home Premium, and the other laptop is also a Windows 7 Ultimate.

ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED...

All searches turn up nothing..I have infact upgraded my firmware for my router and have double checked and there is NO formware available for my switch...

can ALL of the computers access the NET?

"laptops connected to my Router cannot access anything on my switch"

are the laptops 'connected' via wireless? or wired?

can these laptops connect to each other?

can the 'desktops' connect to each other?

please answer these questions--I'll check back later

Which A/V software do you have installed on those machines?

It might also help if you do an ipconfig /all on those machines to make sure they are all using the same defaut gateway.

make sure your router supports IP v6. if nothing else works you can try one of the following:

option 1:
install MS virtual PC, run win XP and start network sharing within the XP virtual machine. To get MSVPC go here:
Download details: Virtual PC 2007

you can also run Sun's VM: VirtualBox

option 2:
this wont solve printer sharing issues but for file sharing purposes use one of the many available FTP client/server and transfer files between the two machines. here is a popular one:
FileZilla - The free FTP solution

make sure Win 7 firewall has the necessary ports open or you wont be able to connect.

please let me know if you have any questions,
