Windows Update definitely can't do SP1 for sure, it showed error code 57, which didn't really help much. I tried download and ran SP1 manually and this is the error it gave Error:ERROR_INVALID_PARAMETER(0x80070057). I also tried to run the SURT too, but it didn't fix the problem. Ran sfc, nothing violated.

At least one of the errors is the result of a bitflip - where a character in the registry has been changed because of errors resulting from memory corruption.

I suspect that a repair install is going to be the quickest solution for you.
