I restored some files from an external hard drive after nuking and re installing Windows 7 on my pc. The files wouldn't open properly so I deleted them just fine, but, the folder they are contained in C:\Program Files (x86)\C cannot be removed. I've tried everything to set myself as owner and I still get denied access. It's frustrating me to the point that if I can't solve it by the time I get off work I'm going to re install again. Yes I googled for solutions so any help would be greatly appreciated.

There are ways to solve that, but the easiest is the usage of Unlocker. After install, right-click the folder and select unlock. If it says it didn't find the problem, go ahead and select 'delete' at the bottom. I know it will take much time, but it is the best wast to do it.

First thing I'm trying when I get home. Did some research on unlocker and it seems it may be what I need. Thanks for the advice!

Didn't work, thanks though. I just reinstalled so it's all good now.
