Sorry - going to have to ask this again: Where are the menu bars hidden in windows live mail? I have this instruction (below in pink) to get rid of a microsoft pop-up, but have no menu, (there is NOTHING on the right hand side - its empty) plus no options, no connections etc...

Can anyone help me? I have been on this for days and I'm not an absolute beginner... Thanks all

When you open Windows Live Mail, go to Menu (on the right hand sided of the screen). After clicking Menu, choose "Options", in Options, choose "Connection". On the Connection screen under the Connecting to Windows Live Services section, click the box that says "Stop Signing In". Then click apply and ok. Close Windows Live Mail and restart it, the box will not popup.

HI Mike11

I am Roy from Dell community team.

With regards to your query, try the following steps

To view the hidden Menu Bar do one of the following:
1) Locate the little icon (Show Menu) near the right end of your Toolbar - the one between Pen (Colour) and the"?" (Help) button. Click that and be sure there is a check in front of Show all menus.
2) There is a key board short cut to that. Just press"Alt+M" two times repeatedly.

Kindly revert for further clarifications,

Thanks and regards,

Hi Roy
Thanks for your response. Do I have a bug? As I don't have anything on the right hand side of the bar except the little '?' online help icon at the extreme right.

All I have on this bar (far left) are menus for the 'ribbon' Home, Folders, View and Accounts - and none of these (as far as I can see) give me any options on configuring how Live Mail connects etc. btw is there any way to keep the ribbon open?

I have also tried the shortcut, Alt+M: this brings up white boxes with letters but none of them respond. When clicking on them they simply disappear.

Positively confused
regards
Mike

Hello roncerr, please forgive intrusion but my problem is identical to Mike11, except I use WLMail2012, Win7. Would you be so kind as to tell me how I can find the "Tools" button in my program? I need it in order to be able to find a few functions I seem to have lost in Word, probably a whole toolbar? I can't understand why MS omitted this Tool button?

Thanks so much for any help. :)

I don't understand the reverence to Word, a completely separate program, with it's own layout. But of course if you are going to use Word and WLM2012, you would need the built-in toolbar for each. Unfortunately, I don't use the newer Word or WLM versions that contain the ribbon, so I can't help. I imagine if you need to get the ribbon back you could use Programs and Features to Repair the program with the problem. In the case of WLM, it's repaired via the Windows Live Essentials entry. In the case of Word, it may be listed under Microsoft Office. In the case of WLM with the ribbon, the tools menu must be accessed through the ribbon. You might try clicking on everything in the ribbon until you find the particular option or function you need.

LOL! Reverence for Word, right! It's funny. Thank you very much for your good advice, I'll try following it. :) Adela
